America’s political parties can’t unite to end the sequester, fix the tax code or solve the immigration problem. But when it comes to jailed marijuana activist Roger Christie, it seems all of the US is united in an effort to free the 63 year-old from federal prison where he sits for marijuana possession. He’s been under arrest and behind bars, without trial, for almost three years now.

Congressmen catch White House in fake Gun Control Tweets

First, the Obama election campaign was caught creating hundreds of thousands of fake Twitter accounts to create the impression of widespread public support. Next, the Obama administration changed the law so that news networks could blatantly lie so long as it was part of a government propaganda campaign. Now, a Texas Congressman has caught the White House using the same fake twitter accounts to “defraud members of Congress” over gun control.

A Lesson in Resistance from our Native American Brothers

For those who’ve spent the last few decades fighting for freedom, liberty and civil rights, the centuries-old struggle for self-determination by American Indians has been one pillar of the current struggle. NY Libertarians announce Suffolk County slate

Suffolk County Republican and Democratic incumbents teamed up to launch a spectacular and successful power grab recently. A 1993 local law limited elected County officials to 12 consecutive years in office. But a lawsuit supported by both parties struck down the term limits. Outraged by the move, Suffolk County Libertarians just announced their own slate of candidates, drafted to run against the three incumbents.

54 Countries helped US torture, including Iran, Syria, Canada

A new report released by a New York human rights organization documented evidence that a quarter of the Earth’s nations – at least 54 and counting – participated in the secret global US kidnapping and torture program. Some nations hosted secret torture facilities. Some lent their airports and air space. While others including the US, Iran, Canada and the UK, turned over their own citizens to the secret black sites.

Whiteout Press hacked, Cyber attacked, Ads suspended

February 23, 2013. It’s been one terrible February for Whiteout Press. In addition to the periodic cyber attacks, this independent news outlet was also hacked through its web host’s servers for the first time. That caused the unfortunate dilemma where the more traffic the site received, the more it crashed. And worst of all, Google temporarily suspended Whiteout Press’ advertising account, cutting off all revenue for the cash-strapped news site.
