Why are Libertarians Such Debbie Downers?

Follow a Libertarian or Anarchist through the year, and you’ll likely see the following reactions to these yearly events:

Super Bowl: “The Superbowl is a pointless game meant to distract the masses”

Easter: “It’s wrong for parents to lie to their kids about the Easter Bunny”

4th of July: “Enjoy your hot dogs & fireworks while the NWO destroys America”

Thanksgiving: “How many native Americans did we have to slaughter to enjoy this meal?”

Christmas: “Parents should be ashamed of themselves for telling their kids Santa is real”

They also get down on positive things like fundraisers

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: “They are tear gassing American citizens and threatening to shoot journalists and you dumb mudderfuckers are dumping water on yer heads”

Any Cancer/AIDS related fundraiser: “The medical industry will never allow a cure, you’re wasting your money”

Now I get it, times are tough. Government is getting more & more out of control, and the world seems to be falling apart. But if you spend every minute of your life worrying, you’ll find you didn’t have much of a life at all.

I disagree. I was born libertarian and have evolved to the an-cap position, I have never said or thought any of those things, neither have any of my libertarian or an-cap friends (the ones I know personally and my online friends). Why do you ALWAYS dis libertarians and anarchists? And why do you generalize EVERYTHING, ALL the time? Those last two sentences are exactly what you did in that post.
